Inspiration appears in usual and unusual places and influences are continuous: places, exhibitions, nature and the artistic explorations of my children.
Creating porcelain jewellery is a patient and rewarding process. Using porcelain clay allows for an unlimited number of design and development processes.
Before shapes are created, the porcelain can be coloured, embedding control over the colour palette and structure. The clay can be moulded, scratched and shaped to produce different textures. Decoration can be created by drawing, painting, adding slips or underglazes. After firing, additional texture can be added with glazes, decals and metallic lustres. There are so many possibilities, the options and combinations are infinite.
